Female Breast Cancer

Breast cancer is a tumor that starts from breast cells and can spread to distant areas of the body. Other than skin cancer, breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in women in the United States, but men can have breast cancer too. Measures are presented as either annual data at the state level or as five year aggregate data at the county level. The Female Breast Cancer measures exclude the small number of breast cancers among men and rates are calculated using the population of females.
