Adult 30 Day Alcohol Use Data

In the BRFSS survey, a standard drink is defined as one 12-ounce beer, one 5-ounce glass of wine, or a drink with one shot of hard liquor. Survey participants were asked “During the past 30 days, how many days per week or per month did you have at least one drink of any alcoholic beverage such as beer, wine, a malt beverage or liquor?” Those who answered "at least once" were counted as having had an alcoholic beverage.

Measure Description:

  • The BRFSS Prevalence Estimate is the percent of BRFSS respondents that answered 'at least once' to the question asked.

Measures are defined above the visualization. Additional help can be found in the Help Section.
