Adult Heavy Drinking Data

In the BRFSS survey, a standard drink is defined as one 12-ounce beer, one 5-ounce glass of wine, or a drink with one shot of hard liquor. Survey participants were asked “During the past 30 days, on the days when you drank, about how many drinks did you drink on the average?”

Measure Description:

  • The BRFSS Prevalence Estimate is the percent of BRFSS respondents that answered 'drinking five or more drinks (men) or four or more drinks (women) per day on the average' to the question asked.

Measures are defined above the visualization. Additional help can be found in the Help Section.
