Infant Mortality Data

Infant mortality is a measure of deaths that occur in infants younger than 1 year of age, and are presented on a five year aggregate basis to reduce the presence of suppressed values due to small numbers. The data can be displayed at the county level, and includes stabilization of rates to better evaluate trends.

Measure Description:

  • Infant Mortality is the number of deaths in infants younger than one year of age per 1,000 live births.
